The Seiko calibre V176 is a Solar Chronograph with date display. Seiko Solar uses an ultra-efficient solar cell that is able to create energy from all kinds of light, not just sunlight. This energy is stored in a very small rechargeable battery that lasts many times longer than conventional batteries. The watch is protected against overcharging. This makes the watch virtually maintenance-free. When fully charged, calibre V176 has an energy reserve of 6 months. In the event of an energy shortage, the watch gives a warning by running the second hand in 2-second increments instead of 1-second increments. The stopwatch measures up to 60 minutes in 1/20-second increments. Intermediate time measurements are possible.
